Terms of Service
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Who we are and what these Terms cover
Rebar is operated by Rebar Fitness LLC, a limited liability company based in North Carolina, USA ("Rebar", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rebar iPhone app, Apple Watch app and web app at getrebar.app (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Rebar, or older if your country requires it for you to agree to these Terms yourself. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Give accurate information and keep it current. One person per account. Don't impersonate anyone.
Not medical advice
Rebar gives you training tools, training suggestions and fitness metrics for general information only. It is not medical advice and not a substitute for a doctor or qualified health professional. Talk to a doctor before you start a new exercise program, especially if you have a health condition, an injury or are pregnant. Stop training and get medical help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest pain or shortness of breath.
Figures such as estimated one-rep maxes, the Strength Index, calorie estimates and suggested loads are estimates. You decide what weight to lift, and you train at your own risk and within your own limits.
The free logbook
Logging workouts, keeping your full training history and exporting it are free. We won't start charging for them on your account. We may change or improve how these features work.
Premium subscriptions
- Premium is an optional paid subscription that adds features such as planned training blocks, following and building programs, and unlimited AI workout import. The current list is shown in the app before you buy.
- Premium is sold through Apple's App Store. The price and billing period are shown before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm, or when a free trial ends if your plan has one.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Deleting your Rebar account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it with Apple first.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. We may change Premium prices for new subscribers at any time. If a price change would affect your existing subscription, Apple will tell you before it applies and, where required, ask for your consent.
- If your subscription ends, Premium features stop. Your logbook and everything you have logged stay.
Founding pricing
Anyone who starts a Premium subscription within 100 days of Rebar's public launch on the App Store gets the founding rate that applies on the day they subscribe. You keep that rate for as long as the same subscription renews without a break, even if we later raise the price for new subscribers. If the subscription ends, including a lapse that Apple can't recover with a billing retry, the founding rate ends too. A new subscription is charged the price at that time. The founding rate belongs to your subscription and can't be transferred.
Beta program
- Before launch we invite some people to test Rebar through Apple TestFlight. Beta versions are pre-release software. They may have bugs, change without notice or lose data, so keep an export of anything you can't afford to lose.
- Everyone we accept into the beta who signs in during the beta gets Premium at no charge, with no subscription and no card. This lasts for as long as your account stays open and Rebar offers Premium. It belongs to your account, can't be transferred, and ends only if you delete your account or we close it for breaking these Terms. We may correct a grant made to an account by mistake.
- If a tester also buys a subscription, it is billed by Apple like any other. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings, since you don't need it.
Your content
- You own what you create: your workouts, notes, profile photo, templates and programs.
- You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process and display that content only to run and improve the Service. For example, we show your profile to lifters you allow to see it. We won't use your content in our marketing without asking you.
- If you delete your content or your account, this license ends, except for copies you already shared with other users, such as a template someone saved.
- Only upload or share content you have the right to share.
AI workout import
AI import reads workout screenshots or text you submit and turns them into workouts or templates. Machine reading can get things wrong, so check the result before you save it. Only submit material you have the right to use. How the material is processed is described in our Privacy Policy.
Community rules
Rebar has profiles, training partners, friends boards and 1v1 challenges. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to:
- Harass, bully, threaten or demean anyone.
- Post sexually explicit, hateful, violent or illegal content, including in your name, username, bio or photo.
- Spam, scam, or advertise products or services.
- Share other people's private information.
- Falsify workout data to manipulate boards or challenges.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer or overload the Service, or get around its security.
You can report or block any user from their profile. We aim to review every report within 24 hours. We may remove content and suspend or close the accounts of people who break these rules.
Programs and third-party names
Some starter programs are Rebar's adaptations of well-known published training programs and credit their authors. Those authors are not affiliated with Rebar and have not endorsed it. Other product names we mention, such as apps you can import from, belong to their owners.
Our rights
The Service, including its software, design, the Rebar name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own training under these Terms. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Rebar infringes your copyright, email support@getrebar.app with: your contact details, the work you say is infringed, where the content is on Rebar, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Termination
You can stop using Rebar and delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account, or on the web at getrebar.app/delete-account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, put other users at risk or abuse the Service. When your account ends, your license to use the Service ends too. Sections that by their nature should survive do so, including licenses already exercised, disclaimers, limits of liability and dispute terms.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted availability, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost data or lost profits, or for injury arising from physical activity you do. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of $50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you posted or because you broke these Terms, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
Apple App Store terms
The Rebar iPhone and Apple Watch apps are licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA), together with these Terms. In addition, if you use Rebar on an Apple device:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to the app is limited to using it on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store Terms of Service allow.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses from a warranty failure are our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims relating to the app or your use of it. That includes product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection, privacy or similar claims.
- If anyone claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile carrier's.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to us at support@getrebar.app.
Disputes and governing law
If you have a problem with Rebar, email support@getrebar.app first. We will try to resolve it with you informally within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court where it qualifies. If you live outside the US, you keep any protections the law of your country gives you that can't be waived by agreement.
General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor that runs the Service, such as a company formed to operate Rebar, on the same terms.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
